North Carolina’s “Chef Troy” Gagliardo will be WSRE’s special guest for the 28th annual Wine & Food Classic weekend, Oct. 14–15 at the Hilton Pensacola Beach. This year’s affair is themed “Seasoned in the South” and includes the traditional Grand Southern Tasting on Friday and the VIP Cuisine Scene on Saturday.

Two Weeks of “StudioAmped” Performances Begin Sept. 30

WSRE invites music fans to be part of the live studio audience for ninth season of the televised concert series, “StudioAmped.” Altogether, nine shows will be recorded in the WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio from Sept. 30 to Oct. 13. All shows begin at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free; however, donations for MANNA Food Pantries will be collected.

MEDIA ALERT: “Sesame Street’s” Maria, Sonia Manzano, to speak at WSRE on Sept. 13

The WSRE Public Square Speakers Series will present Sonia Manzano on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio. Manzano starred in the role of Maria on “Sesame Street” for 44 years until she retired from the show last year as one of its most recognizable faces and a role model for generations of young girls and women.

Applicant deadline approaching for “RALLY 2016” candidate forum

Primary election candidates in select races on the ballots of Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 to qualify and reserve their spots on WSRE’s “RALLY 2016” candidate forum. The required criteria for each race are posted online at wsre.org/RALLY. Candidates must demonstrate satisfaction of the criteria via email to Kasey Jones.

The “RALLY 2016” broadcasts for the upcoming primary and general elections in Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties have been scheduled for August 2–4 and October 25–26 respectively.
