Media Alert: WSRE to host free event for “Nightmare Theatre” fans with screening of “Plan 9 from Outer Space”

WHO:              WSRE public media; event sponsors: Great Southern Restaurants, Hula Moon Tattoo Studio and Messenger Hot Rods; “Nightmare Theatre” cast: Mike Ensley, Chip Chism and Lemmie Crews.                                          

WHAT:            WSRE has produced 13 new episodes of “Nightmare Theatre” for broadcast on Saturdays at 10 p.m. This series launch event is free and will feature a film screening of “Plan 9 from Outer Space;” an exhibit of movie memorabilia from the Merrill Movie Museum; a costume contest; a photo booth on the “Nightmare Theatre” set; and meet and greet opportunities with the stars of “Nightmare Theatre”—Mike Ensley as the Baron Mondo Von Doren, Chip Chism as El Sapo de Tempesto and Lemmie Crews as Mittens the Werewolf.

WHEN:            6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. Film starts at 7 p.m.

WHERE:         WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio at Pensacola State College

WHY:              To celebrate the series launch on WSRE of “Nightmare Theatre”—a presentation of horror film classics introduced by hosts Ensley, Chism and Crews and vintage movie memorabilia presented by Julio Diaz as The Curator.

HOW:              Admission is free. Advance registration and costumes are encouraged, though not required. Register online at wsre.org/nightmaretheatre.
