PENSACOLA, Fla., July 27, 2015 – Two new PBS documentaries about the history and development of nuclear weaponry premiere Tuesday, July 28, beginning at 7 p.m. on WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast.  “The Bomb” is a two-hour film on the history of nuclear weapons and how they have shaped our modern world. Following at 9 p.m., “Uranium – Twisting the Dragon’s Tail” is an in-depth look at the chemical element used in nuclear weaponry, hosted by physicist and YouTube star Derek Muller.

The documentaries are timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the first explosion of an atomic bomb, and the bombing of Hiroshima, essentially the dawn of the nuclear age. Learn more at pbs.org.
