PBS Kids’ Splash and Bubbles to appear at Gulfarium
Splash, Bubbles, Curious George to greet fans during annual WSRE PBS KIDS & Family Day
PENSACOLA, Fla., January 22, 2018 ― Stars of The Jim Henson Company animated series “Splash and Bubbles” are coming to Fort Walton Beach to help young spring breakers dive into family fun. Splash and Bubbles, along with Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat, will be on hand to greet young fans during the fourth annual WSRE PBS KIDS & Family Day at Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park on Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition to meet and greet fun with costumed characters, children can engage in hands-on activities including arts and crafts, a bounce house and scavenger hunt.
This will be the first appearance of Splash and Bubbles in the WSRE viewing area. The show, which debuted on PBS in 2016, is designed to encourage kids to explore the natural undersea world while introducing the concepts of ecological balance and the importance of taking care of the ocean. Together with their friends, Splash (a yellow fusilier fish) and Bubbles (a colorful Mandarin dragonet) learn about the many different ways life looks and lives in the ocean.
Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park will operate under regular hours with their dolphin and sea lion shows, animal exhibits and aquariums. A portion of proceeds from the day’s admission fees will be donated to the WSRE-TV Foundation.
This event is also sponsored in part by Gulf Power Company. Media partners include Cox Communications, Lamar Advertising, Cat Country 98.7 and NewsRadio 92.3 FM and 1620 AM.
