| Duties: | The Director will direct a variety of television programs including, but not limited to, coordination and scheduling of production equipment, personnel and facilities. Edits, and creates graphics for, documentaries, programs, promotional spots and other interstitial material. Provides technical support for special projects and events. Plans, schedules and supervises all setups, surveys, and technical requirements for productions. Edits program elements into assembled productions. Trains/supervises appropriate personnel in all phases of television production. Demonstrates technical skills in broadcast camera/videography, non-linear video editing, live directing/technical directing of television programs, field and studio production lighting and audio. |

| Minimum Qualifications: | Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree and eight years progressively responsible management experience in a broadcast, telecommunications or other related field required. Twelve years progressively responsible management experience including media content development and delivery systems in a comparable media-related industry (television/cable/satellite/telecommunications/web) may substitute for required degree and experience. Prefer the following: (1) bachelor's degree in management, marketing, human resources, finance or communications; (2) master's degree in management or marketing; (3) five years experience in a public television entity; (4) experience with FCC and PBS guidelines related to television operation/programming; (5) strong leadership/organizational skills including experience in managing multiple departments; (6) exceptional verbal and written communication skills; and (7) experience in budget development and management of same. |
| Duties: | The Director coordinates and manages the day to day programming activities of WSRE-TV including website, field and studio production operations, program promotion and marketing, and the station's SightLine reading service. Advises general manager on issues relating to local, regional and national programming. Manages daily workflow and integration of program activities and station support to other WSRE units. Directs and executes production services to others to maximize revenue potential. Proposes and executes plans for revenue generation, supporting production projects, and other station activities. Knowledgeable of and integrates into operation new technology and changes in media delivery including appropriate content development for multiple delivery platforms. Responsible for hiring, team building and staff development of operational teams, including oversight of departmental operating budgets. Responsible for content compliance with FCC, PBS, and copyright requirements. Flexible schedule required including nights and weekends. |
