WSRE's “An Evening with Chloe Channell”
WSRE hosted “An Evening with Chloe Channell”— a free concert event — on Saturday, August 9 at the Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio on the Pensacola State College campus. Click the image below to get a glimpse of this beautiful young lady who is an amazing talent with a big heart and a bright future ahead of her! Thank you Chloe for sharing your love of music and your beautiful voice!
Channell gained national acclaim as a singer from Season 8 of the “America’s Got Talent” televised talent show, in which she competed into the quarterfinals.
Since the age of 7, Channell has enjoyed a local following of fans from the Pensacola Bay area as a full-time member of The Sawmill Band at the Farmers’ Opry House in Chumuckla, up until the Opry’s closing in 2012. She recorded her first self-titled CD at the age of 8 and has performed hundreds of shows opening for country artists including Tracy Bird, Rodney Adkins, Little Big Town, Craig Morgan, Ronnie McDowell, John Conlee and the Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent.
Now age 12, she recently opened for Chris Young and Josh Thompson during the Tour for the Troops aboard NAS Pensacola.
Channell is setting the stage (the WSRE stage, in fact) for another young talent who will perform in Pensacola this fall. Internationally acclaimed musician Ethan Bortnick, age 13, will perform at the Amos Studio on Oct. 28, and proceeds from that event will benefit the WSRE TV Foundation.
