Martha Speaks Pictures

Martha Speaks

If your dog (or your pet) could talk like Martha, what would it say? Martha Speaks is a new PBS animated series for children, ages 4–7, that follows the adventures of Martha, a loveable dog whose appetite for alphabet soup gives her the power of speech. Using her speaking abilities, Martha is a clever dog who gets jobs, wears disguises, foils bad guys, wins contests, runs for office and orders lots of steaks. If your dog could talk… what would it say?

Submit a picture of your dog (or pet)! Tell us what your dog would say if it could talk. We want to know what your dog is thinking! Please send the picture and what your dog would say to education@wsre.org.

We'll be looking for dogs that look like Martha, as well as dogs who really have something interesting and important to say! WSRE will be randomly selecting dogs and their owners who submit their pictures and witty thoughts to win cool prizes, like cans of WSRE's very own alphabet soup, dog bones, chew toys and copies of the book that the series is based on, Martha Speaks!, written by Susan Meddaugh.

Martha Speaks is designed to help children acquire language skills by teaching new vocabulary words in each show. And what better way is there to get kids excited about learning and trying out new words than with a talking dog — who just can't stop talking?!

Check out all the fun and games for humans at pbskids.org/Martha. WSRE invites you to send us a photo of your favorite canine (or pet) and tell us what your pet is thinking now to education@wsre.org. Watch Martha Speaks on WSRE, Monday through Friday, at 5 p.m.
