WSRE's Wine, Women & Shoes Weekend, A Sip-Sational Success
Pensacola, Fla. - Over 300 attendees enjoyed the “sip-sationally” successful Wine, Women and Shoes Weekend held by the WSRE-TV Foundation in Destin, Fla. March 2-5. The inaugural weekend of events raised $84,000 in support of the mission of local PBS broadcaster WSRE.
“This show of support from our eastern viewing area will allow us to enhance and expand future programming endeavors and strengthen our commitment of providing educational outreach services for children, parents and caregivers,” said WSRE general manager Sandy Cesaretti Ray. “We are looking forward to future opportunities to produce timely programs highlighting people of interest and showcasing the rich history in WSRE’s easternmost counties,” she added. WSRE’s mission is one of education, public service and making a positive difference in the lives of Gulf Coast residents.
This year’s weekend of events offered patron dinners with world-class winemakers; WSRE’s 4th Annual Wine & Food Dinner featuring a wine stroll, gourmet dinner and live auction; and the popular Wine, Women and Shoes event complete with wine tastings, a runway fashion show, a shopping marketplace with clothing accessories and shoes galore, a fabulous silent auction, and tasty bite-size munchies while the “Sole Mates” (our shoe guys, black clad and buff) strolled around, offering the latest in shoe styles and jewelry on silver platters, enticing the ladies to the boutiques.
