Sweet Potato Queen and Author Jill Connor Browne on Conversations with Jeff Weeks January 19
On Thursday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m., WSRE’s “Conversations with Jeff Weeks” features author and self-proclaimed Sweet Potato Queen Jill Connor Browne.
From Jackson, Mississippi to the New York Times Best Seller list, Jill Conner Browne’s life experiences and sense of humor have made her a best-selling author and an in-demand speaker. Learn how the Sweet Potato Queens were born and why Jill's books have captured the hearts and minds of women all over the world, inspiring a feminist movement that reaches from Jackson, Mississippi to the streets of Saudi Arabia.
“Conversations with Jeff Weeks” airs as part of WSRE’s new all-local evening programming block, Explore More Thursdays. The new Thursday night lineup airs 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and also features new series “In Your Own Backyard” hosted by Sherri Hemminghaus Weeks, locally produced documentaries and performing arts programs.
In addition to “Conversations with Jeff Weeks,” the Jan. 19 local Thursday night lineup includes a look into the private collection of local businessman and philanthropist Gordon Sprague’s “mantiques” on “In Your Own Backyard” at 7 p.m., part two of the local documentary “Gulf Coast War Memories” beginning at 8 p.m. and at 9 p.m. “StudioAmped” featuring the music of the regional band The Ghostown Phantoms.
