People On The Move: Elaine Tucker Joins WSRE
Elaine Tucker has joined WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast, as the new Marketing and Business Development Representative. In her position, she will be WSRE’s liaison to Okaloosa County and the Emerald Coast. Tucker is an experienced public relations and communications professional, with a history of organizing and directing community events and fundraising. She has also served as an Okaloosa County Commissioner, Shalimar’s Commissioner and Mayor Pro-Tem, and as a board member and chairperson of numerous boards and task forces throughout the Emerald Coast.
A native of Portland, Oregon, Tucker is married to Major (Ret.) Robert “Geno” Tucker who is an engineer with Jacobs. After moving around the world as an Air Force family, the Tuckers settled in Shalimar in 1995. The Tuckers have two daughters.
WSRE is a PBS member station that is locally owned and licensed to the Pensacola State College Board of Trustees operating as a service of Pensacola State College. The public broadcasting station has been serving the needs of the Gulf Coast community through programming, educational services and outreach since 1967. WSRE produces, acquires and distributes programs that address local interests and reflect the diverse cultural, political, geographic and demographic characteristics of its audience. The Educational Services unit for WSRE serves as the connection to teachers, parents, caregivers and children to extend the rich resources found in public television.
