“Go Digital Day” to Help Prepare Community for Switch to Digital TV
WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast, and WEAR ABC 3 are partnering to help educate and prepare local viewers for the upcoming switch to digital TV. The stations will host “Go Digital Day,” a free, DTV event on Saturday, January 24 from 10 a.m.-noon at the WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio. The public is invited to attend.
It is a family-friendly event aimed at providing viewers with a wealth of information to help them get ready for the upcoming switch to digital. Local TV experts will be on hand to answer specific questions, two informational sessions will be held at 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m., and kids will be entertained with activities including meeting Clifford the Big Red Dog and WSRE’s mascots, the WSRE Kids. Plus, participants will have the opportunity to register to win one of ten digital converter boxes, donated by Best Buy’s Geek Squad, and other prizes.
If you are not sure if you are DTV ready or just need to ask a question about DTV, this event is for you. Make sure all of your TVs are DTV ready — don’t be left in the dark come February 17, 2009!
