WSRE Original Production Honors “Golden Apple” Teachers

In upholding its mission of supporting education, WSRE announces a special television program honoring local educators, "The Golden Apple Awards." The program will air on WSRE HD Tuesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. with an encore presentation Sunday, April 12 at 1 p.m.

This program will take viewers inside the classrooms of the “Teacher of the Year” school district finalists and winners from Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa Counties and features tributes from the district superintendents, peer teachers, administrators, and students. Also featured are the professors and instructors receiving the honor of being inducted to Pensacola Junior College’s “Academy of Teaching Excellence.”

Viewers will see some of the latest technology being used in classrooms today, from Pre-kindergarten to college, as well as effective teaching methods that inspire students to take an active part in the learning process. Watch as these educators share their passion for teaching and learning.

Congratulations to all of the educators selected as “Teacher of the Year,” nominated for their dedication and outstanding contributions to the education of our community’s students. WSRE is proud to honor educators in our area who are making a difference in the lives of their students each day – helping them to learn, achieve and succeed.
