WSRE People on the Move

WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast, announces new foundation board of director officer appointments and members. Randy Oxenham, Vice President/General Manager of Lamar Advertising is the Chairman; Vice Chairman is Mike Johnson, a local State Farm insurance agent; Brian Spencer, principle partner of local architect firm Spencer, Maxwell, Bullock is the Secretary; and new board members include the following:

Ed Lemox is the owner of Lemox Book Company, which has served Pensacola Junior College and UWF students for over 40 years. He is also the owner of Bad Ass Coffee Company, Florida, a retail coffee shop. Ed has lived in Pensacola most of his life and is a graduate of Florida State University. He has been married to his wife Ann for 12 years. He has one son, Brett, who is a senior at Florida State University. 

Alan McMillan serves as president and chief executive officer of the National Safety Council. Prior to becoming president, he served for six years as the executive vice president and chief operating officer at the council. Alan has more than 40 years of government and private sector safety, health and environmental experience. He received his degree from the University of Florida. Alan completed a senior executive fellowship at Harvard University in 1980. He and his wife, Gloria, live in Pensacola.

Megan Pratt coordinates the education outreach efforts at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC).  She spearheaded the creation of and continues to direct IHMC’s Science Saturday’s program, a monthly hands-on science program for kids in third through fifth grades. Originally, from Pensacola, Megan received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from MIT and earned a master’s degree in chemistry from Harvard University. Megan did her PhD work in the Harvard program in neuroscience. Pratt is mother to Annie and Ben, and married to Jerry, a robotics researcher at IHMC.

Harry Miller Caldwell, III, serves as president of CCG Design Builders, a local architectural firm located in downtown Pensacola. He received a bachelor of architecture degree, a bachelor of science in building construction and business administration degree from Auburn University. Caldwell is involved in numerous community organizations. He and his wife Kate have two children.

The WSRE Foundation, Inc. was established in 1991 as a direct support organization of Pensacola Junior College (PJC) to support the activities and capital and operating needs of WSRE, a public broadcasting TV station.
