WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast and the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra are proud to announce the completion and preview screening of their latest collaboration, “Pause Life, Play Music: A Symphony Season,” a one-hour documentary produced by the PBS TV station. The public is invited to attend a screening of the program Sunday, April 19, 5 p.m. at WSRE’s Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio. The program will premiere on WSRE HD later that week on Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. More information about the event and the documentary are available at wsre.org/symphony or by calling (850) 484-1200.

Throughout the course of the 2007-2008 Symphony season, WSRE's cameras accompanied the members of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, examining the vital role the Symphony plays in the cultural life of the community it serves. The hour-long documentary provides a "behind-the-scenes" perspective on the challenging and rewarding lives of the region's premier professional musicians. Highlights include the concert performance of Broadway star (and former Pensacola Symphony Children's Chorus member) Ashley Brown and a thrilling recording of Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini, produced in WSRE's Jean and Paul Amos Performance Studio with the technical assistance of Marc Bauman, supervising producer of the PBS program Live From Lincoln Center. This WSRE original production will repeat on Sunday, April 26, 1 p.m.

WSRE is available over the air on digital 23-1, on cable channel 8 in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, cable channel 9 in Okaloosa County, cable channel 4 in Baldwin County, channel 23 on Dish Network and DirecTV.
