WSRE Wins a 2010 People’s Telly Award

WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast, has won a People’s Telly Award for its video entry “Gulf Islands National Seashore: The Treasure of the Gulf Coast,” a WSRE original documentary that premiered in Fall 2009. Narrated by Ken Burns, “Gulf Islands” showcases the beauty of the national seashore and tells the story of how it came to be preserved. “Gulf Islands” was selected by the public to win this special distinction. This is the second award for the WSRE original documentary. “Gulf Islands” also won a 2010 Bronze Telly Award in the original documentary category.

The People's Telly Award is a new award for 2010 featuring special categories. All of the entries were featured on a custom Telly YouTube® Channel, allowing the public to select the best work. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web.
