WSRE-TV is a non-commercial television station located in Pensacola, Florida, that provides quality educational, cultural and public affairs programming as well as a multitude of public outreach services to the Northwest Florida and South Alabama area. WSRE-TV first signed on the air in 1967. WSRE-TV is licensed to the District Board of Trustees of Pensacola State College. Its 43,000 square foot facility includes three studios that are used to produce local programming. The facility houses a full-time staff, as well as volunteers who contribute thousands of hours of service on a regular basis.
The mission of WSRE-TV is unique: to provide high quality television programming and learning opportunities that enrich the lives of our viewers, encourages appreciation of diversity and richness of culture and informs citizens of the significant issues facing society.
WSRE-TV's primary sources of funding are individual contributions, corporate sponsorships and state and federal funding. Additional money is generated through a variety of special events and fundraising activities.
