WSRE and PBS are always here to support teachers, students and families. Providing free educational content on air and online is at the core of our mission!
During this challenging time for families and teachers navigating COVID-19 response and safety guidelines in schools, WSRE has adjusted daytime program schedules to provide standards-aligned educational content that local educators and parents can use to support both virtual and in-classroom instruction. Through educational programs complemented with a variety of online resources, WSRE and other PBS stations are providing tools that address the critical need for quality distance learning resources.
The WSRE At-Home Learning Service features quality educational broadcasts and accompanying digital resources. Created for use with the broadcasts, companion lessons and activities can be found online.
Pre-K and Elementary: Programming for children ages 2–8 airs weekdays on WSRE (23.1 over the air and Cox channel 8). Printable weekly activity packets for Pre-K through Grade 2 students are part of the companion learning resources available online. Find them at pbskids.org/learn.
Additionally, WSRE PBS KIDS (23.4 over the air and Cox channel 126) is the only free, over-the-air 24/7 television service for children in our region. It offers anytime access to educational series for kids ages 2–8. This broadcast and online streaming service ensures that high-quality, educationally based programming is available to every child, anytime and anywhere.
Middle and High School: Programming designed to supplement learning for middle and high school students is available on WSRE WORLD (23.2 over the air and Cox channel 124) from 11am to 4pm weekdays. Episodes within this WORLD At-Home Learning Service are tied to free PBS LearningMedia resources at pbslearningmedia.org.

PBS Learning Media offers free, standards-aligned videos, lesson plans, interactives and more for educators on a searchable website. As schools close, PBS LearningMedia provides educational content online that is perfect for distance learning and resources which are searchable by subject and grade (Pre-K, Early Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle School and High School).
Teachers: Share these resources with your families through your school website, direct email or via Facebook, Twitter, or your school-approved parent communication app.
The PBS KIDS app is available on mobile, tablet and connected TV devices and offers on-demand educational videos and a live stream of the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel. No subscription required.
The PBS KIDS Games app nearly 200 educational games, like Cookie Monster's Challenge and Play and Learn Science, which can be downloaded for offline play anytime, anywhere. Learn more about these and other apps here.

Ready to Learn: The Ready to Learn (RTL) Initiative provides free, evidence-based educational resources that help teachers, caregivers, and parents build early science and literacy skill aimed at students ages 2-8.
Khan Academy: Lessons connect to State standards and are designed to provide students with clear understandings of mathematical operations and principles for problem solving. Bring clarity to the classroom with these video resources that run between 2 -15 minutes each.
Chemistry Matters:The series supports science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) objectives by encouraging inquiry-based learning, problem solving, critical thinking, exploration, and discovery. The series is meant to be a comprehensive resource for students and teachers.

Explore PBS LearningMedia by curriculum area to find videos, lessons, interactive experiences, and printable activities for your PreK-12 student.
Language Arts & Literacy: Interactive lessons span a range of subjects and grade levels. Each presents content specially tailored to the curricular needs of the classroom. Teachers can assign them to individual students, pairs, or small groups for self-paced work, or can present all or parts of the lesson to a full class. Each lesson features several engagement and assessment activities. Student work in these activities is saved and can be viewed online by teachers.
