WSRE-TV Foundation

The WSRE-TV Foundation was established in 1990 as a private, non-profit corporation that encourages, solicits, receives and administers gifts and bequests of property and funds in support of the activities, operations and capital needs of WSRE. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and serves as a direct support organization for WSRE/Pensacola State College under Florida statutes.

WSRE is licensed to the District Board of Trustees of Pensacola State College, which meets regularly and has an open meeting policy (click here for meeting times). The station functions operationally as a department of the College. The station is an affiliated member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Upcoming Meetings (Legal Notice)

Meetings of the WSRE-TV Foundation Board of Directors and its committees are open to the general public. Unless otherwise noted below, board meetings are held at 4:15 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month (except December and March) at the WSRE Kugelman Center for Telecommunications on the campus of Pensacola State College.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Finance & Investment Committee meets 3:30pm–4pm, prior to each regularly scheduled board meeting with the exception of quarterly Investment Subcommittee meetings starting at 3pm.

BOARD COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

Foundation Board of Directors
The WSRE-TV Foundation Board of Directors is a fundraising board which provides assistance to the station’s operations and capital needs. The board is comprised of up to 27 Directors who serve for a term of three (3) years each.

All meetings are in the Patricia Windham Community Room at 4:15pm unless otherwise noted. The meeting schedule is posted below.

Finance & Investment Committee
The Finance Committee will assist the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to provide oversight of the Foundation financial statements, and the engagement, independence and performance of the independent auditors.

All meetings are in the Patricia Windham Community Room at 3:30pm unless otherwise noted.

Investment Subcommittee
The Investment Subcommittee of the Finance & Investment Committee will assist the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to provide oversight of the Foundation investment advisors.

Quarterly meetings are held in the Patricia Windham Community Room at 3pm unless otherwise noted.

Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee will assist the Board by selecting candidates to be nominated to serve on the Board, and presenting their recommended slate of nominees to the Board for approval.
