Community organizations are invited to take part with exhibits and children’s activities

PENSACOLA, Fla., March 14, 2023 ― WSRE PBS invites the community to come together for the station’s annual Be My Neighbor Day on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio. This free, family-fun event emphasizes early learning, health and safety, and the neighborly values of Mister Rogers and Daniel Tiger—two of public television’s most beloved characters.

Highlighting this year’s program is the return of Daniel Tiger to meet and greet with young fans.

The event also features educational exhibits and children’s activities presented by a number of local organizations such as the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Posse, the Pensacola Police Department’s K-9 Unit, Pensacola Fire Department, West Florida Public Libraries, Ronald McDonald House and Pensacola State College Cosmetology offering free haircuts.

To take part as an exhibitor, please contact WSRE Director of Education and Outreach Jeri Shaffer at 850-484-1240 or visit wsre.org/bmnd to learn more.
