PENSACOLA, Fla., March 12, 2021 ― “Hank Locklin: Country Music’s Timeless Tenor,” a documentary produced by local PBS member station WSRE, is being offered on DVD with producers’ commentary and 20 minutes of bonus content featuring Dolly Parton, William Lee Golden, Charley Pride, Dwight Yoakam and others. The film explores the music and career of the Grand Ole Opry star from Santa Rosa County and examines his biggest hits: “Please Help Me, I’m Falling” and the self-penned “Send Me the Pillow You Dream On.”
WSRE is taking orders for the new DVD as part of the station’s current on-air fundraising drive and during broadcasts of the documentary at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17—aptly scheduled to air on St. Patrick’s Day in consideration of Locklin’s Irish-style tenor voice and trademark clover stage suits—and at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 20.
In addition to the DVD, the film is available for streaming on PBS Passport, an on-demand option for station supporters. Learn more at wsre.org/HankLocklinFilm.
