WSRE and Ch. 3 News team up to host "Town Hall: Addicted Florida"

WHO: WSRE Public Square and WEAR’s Ch. 3 News have teamed up to host a town hall event about the opioid epidemic. Sue Straughn of Ch. 3 News will lead the community discussion with a panel of experts including Dennis Dawson, Drug Enforcement Administration; Jeff Gaddy, Levin Papantonio; Dr. Paul Glisson, Baptist Health Care; and Dustin Perry, Lakeview Center, Inc. WSRE’s Jeff Weeks will facilitate questions from the audience.

WHAT: “Town Hall: Addicted Florida” will be a 90-minute community discussion and live broadcast featuring an expert panel and guests from federal, state and local authorities from across the Panhandle. Community agencies will be on hand with helpful information beginning at 6 p.m., before the program.

WHEN: Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7

WHERE: WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio
Pensacola State College, 1000 College Blvd., Pensacola

WHY: To help raise awareness about the opioid epidemic in Florida, which has affected many in local communities. WEAR’s Ch. 3 News team has made a strong commitment to sharing the heart-wrenching stories, the challenges, and possible solutions to the opioid crisis. The public is encouraged to watch, listen or come join the conversation Thursday evening at WSRE.

HOW: The event is free and open to the public. The live broadcast will air on WSRE and WFGX with simulcast on NewsRadio 92.3 FM & 1620 AM. The program will also stream live on weartv.com and via Facebook Live @weartv. Advance registration for joining the studio audience is encouraged (not required) at wsre.org/speakers.
